Outdoor: Government, Emerytech
Many cities require private developers to allocate a percentage of their building construction costs for on-site public art. We are experienced in working with developers and cities to select or commission works that meet these requirements.
To comply with Emeryville, CA public art ordinance, Suzy Locke & Associates installed a 3,000-pound bronze sculpture, depicting "escaping" Queen Anne-style tables as they "run" together and spill in waves off the roof and sides of the building.
For the interior, we commissioned a mixed-media construction, combining acrylic, latex and oil on metal and wood, by San Francisco Bay Area artist Michael Wells. The trompe l’oile effect brings a three-dimensional feeling to the flat surface and fits nicely into the deconstructionist lobby of the building housing several high-tech firms.
